One of Africa’s most famous contemporary artists, Malian musician Salif Keita is well-known globally as, “The Golden Voice of Africa”, and is also a direct descendant of the founder of the Malian empire.
Unfortunately, due to his albinism and his longing to become a musician, he was kicked out of his father’s home and his community. Keita would eventually leave Mali altogether and continue pursuing his musical dreams and career the Ivory Coast and later, in France.
